Christmas Backpacks

We are launching a Christmas Backpack program in partnership with Church @ the Springs in Ocala.  This program will have us deliver roughly 1000 backpacks loaded with supplies, toys, and hygiene items to the children in our elementary schools. The distribution will take place the week before Christmas, and should be a whole lot of fun.

The backpacks will also contain a New Testament Bible in Creole, some food for a Christmas meal, and a pair of sunglasses!

Hurricane Matthew storm relief in Haiti

Living Hope Haiti is participating in storm relief from Hurricane Matthew. Although we are not a disaster relief organization, we have been doing our best to supply two towns (Jeremie and Pestel) in southern Haiti with food and medical supplies. The hurricane devastated the southern end of the island, and it will be quite a wild until they can recover fully. Crops and wildlife were both destroyed, leaving the area without an ability to feed itself.  We have sent over 150,000 meals to the area.

The food that we have distributed in Southern Haiti is from our partnership with Feed My Starving Children – a Christian charity that provides us with meals specifically designed for malnourished children. We are delighted to be able to help during these difficult times. If you would like to donate towards our Storm Relief efforts, click here: http://www.livinghopehaiti.com/support.

Our mission, which is in Northern Haiti, was not affected by the hurricane, as the wind and rain were very light in our area. Our schools are open, and everything is proceeding well.

Thank you for your prayers and support!
